Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and the FIFA FIFPro Men's World XI for 2022

The FIFA FIFPro World XI was named at the FIFA's The Best awards for 2022, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland included.

The best 11 players in world football – as voted for by their footballing colleagues – were named in the FIFPro World XI for 2022 on Monday at FIFA's The Best awards.

World Cup winner Lionel Messi was named in the side, but was not joined by Argentine colleague Emiliano Martinez, who won the goalkeeper award earlier in the night. There was also no inclusion for five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved to Saudi outfit Al-Nassr after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Despite the absentees, an undoubtedly talented and endlessly star-studded XI was named on the night in Paris and included four current Premier League footballers.

GOAL has listed the XI in full below, so keep on reading to find out who made the cut and who missed out.
